STUDENT ENROLLMENT AND STUDY TERMS & CONDITIONS
For Learners, Parents, and Guardians of OUR-SCHOOL

By enrolling a learner into any course or course collection on OUR-SCHOOL (“the Platform”), you, the Parent/Legal Guardian (“the Guardian”), agree to these Study Terms and Conditions on behalf of yourself and the enrolled student (“the Learner”).
1. Curriculum and CAPS Alignment
- National Framework: All grade-level course collections (Grade R to Grade 12) provided by OUR-SCHOOL are designed to align with the South African Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) framework.
- Supplementary Nature: Unless explicitly stated under a formal distance-education registration arrangement, OUR-SCHOOL operates as an online support, tutoring, and curriculum delivery platform.
- SACAI / Umalusi Registration: Guardians are reminded that formal registration for the Senior Certificate / Matric National Examinations remains the legal responsibility of the Guardian in conjunction with authorized assessment bodies (such as SACAI or Umalusi).
2. Academic Integrity and Honest Study
To maintain the value of the education provided, Learners must adhere to strict academic honesty protocols:
- Original Work: All assignments, projects, quizzes, and assessment inputs submitted by the Learner must be their own original work.
- Plagiarism & AI Usage: Copying answers directly from external websites, textbooks, or using AI text generators to complete formal evaluations without instructor permission is strictly prohibited.
- Guardian Intervention: While Guardians are encouraged to support younger learners (especially in Foundation Phase: Grade R to Grade 3), Guardians must not complete tests, assessments, or quizzes on behalf of the Learner. Doing so skews progress metrics and violates study terms.
3. Study Materials and System Requirements
- Digital Content: Course fees cover access to online video lessons, interactive quizzes, and downloadable digital worksheets.
- Physical Textbooks: If a specific CAPS course requires an officially prescribed physical textbook, the cost of sourcing that textbook is the sole responsibility of the Guardian, unless explicitly bundled into the course package.
- Hardware Requirements: The Guardian must ensure the Learner has access to a reliable internet connection, a functional computer or tablet, and compatible software to view materials and upload completed tasks.
4. Assessments, Grading, and Feedback
- Submission Deadlines: Instructors establish reasonable target dates for assignments to ensure steady curriculum pacing. Late submissions may result in delayed grading or feedback.
- Instructor Evaluation: Independent Instructors registered on the Platform are solely responsible for reviewing submissions, providing academic constructive feedback, and assigning marks.
- Progress Reports: Termly or collection-based progress overviews will be generated automatically via the student dashboard, accessible at any time by the registered Guardian.
5. Code of Conduct and Online Etiquette
Learners and Guardians are expected to maintain a polite, safe, and respectful environment within all digital spaces (discussion forums, virtual classrooms, and message portals):
- Zero Tolerance: Bullying, harassment, profane language, racial slurs, or discriminatory comments directed at instructors, staff, or fellow students will result in an immediate account suspension.
- Reporting Misconduct: Any disruptive or inappropriate digital behavior must be reported immediately to administrative security at admin@our-school.co.za.
6. Course Access Periods
- Subscription Term: Purchasing a specific CAPS grade collection grants active access to that content for the duration of the standard South African academic school year, or a designated duration specified at checkout (typically 12 months from activation).
- Archiving: Once an access window closes or a student advances to the next consecutive grade, the historical profile data may be archived in compliance with POPIA retention laws.
7. Breach of Study Terms
Failure to comply with these Study Terms—including repeated academic fraud, cyberbullying, or sharing account access credentials with unauthorized external users—may result in:
- Formal academic warnings issued to the Guardian.
- Temporary freezing of the Learner’s dashboard.
- Permanent cancellation of the enrollment without a refund
